The Project

A New Drainage Connection Into the Existing Main Sewer.

KD Drainage was appointed to carry out new drainage connection works at Leigh Road.

Before construction began, our team produced the site drawings and relevant documentation required for the works to comply with Southern Water requirements.

A new manhole chamber was then constructed along the existing main sewer, providing the point at which the new soil waste pipework could be connected.

Once the drainage work had been completed, KD Drainage arranged the site inspection with Southern Water and the completed works were approved.

Planning & Compliance

The Work Started Before Any Pipework Was Installed.

Connecting new private drainage into an existing sewer can require more than excavation and pipe installation.

For this project, KD Drainage was responsible for preparing the site drawings and the relevant paperwork required by Southern Water before the connection works progressed.

This gave the project a clear route from the proposed drainage arrangement through to construction and final inspection.

Managing the documentation alongside the physical drainage work also meant the client had a single team coordinating the process through to approval.

Construction

A New Manhole Chamber Was Constructed on the Existing Main Sewer.

With the required drawings and paperwork in place, KD Drainage constructed the new manhole chamber along the pre-existing main sewer.

The chamber provided the connection point required for the new soil waste drainage.

The new pipework could then be brought into the chamber and connected into the existing sewer infrastructure.

Once complete, the installation was ready for inspection by Southern Water.

For the Leigh Road project, the new chamber formed the connection point between the new soil waste pipework and the pre-existing main sewer.
