Croydon – New Sewer Connection & Foul Water Gully Installation

The Project

A New Foul Drainage Installation Connected Into the Main Sewer.

KD Drainage was asked to provide a new drainage installation for a client in Croydon, with the new foul drainage connecting into the existing main sewer.

The project involved more than simply installing pipework. Our team also dealt with the local authority on the client’s behalf regarding the planning, implementation and final approval of the works.

Once the required arrangement had been approved, the relevant area of the rear garden was excavated and a new foul water gully installed.

After the drainage works were completed and approved, the excavated garden area was reinstated to its previous condition.

Planning & Coordination

Managing the Drainage Work From Planning Through to Sign-Off.

A new connection into the main sewer can involve both practical drainage construction and coordination with the relevant authority.

For this Croydon project, KD Drainage provided a consultancy-led service that included dealing with the local authority in relation to the proposed installation.

This covered the planning of the works, their implementation and the final approval process.

The client therefore had one drainage contractor managing both the physical work and the coordination required around the installation.

The Installation

Excavation, New Foul Water Gully and Main Sewer Connection.

With the proposed drainage arrangement approved, the team excavated the required area within the client’s rear garden.

A new foul water gully was installed in accordance with the approved arrangement.

The new foul drainage installation was then connected into the existing main sewer.

Once the installation had been completed and approved, the garden was reinstated rather than being left as an open construction area.

Why Reinstatement Matters

Completing the Drainage Work Without Leaving the Site Looking Like a Building Project.

Excavation is sometimes unavoidable when new underground drainage needs to be installed or connected into existing infrastructure.

That does not mean the property should be left with an unfinished excavation once the drainage work is complete.

For this project, the rear garden was reinstated following completion and approval of the new foul drainage installation.
