Drain Lining & Localised Structure Repair

If any issues with your pipework are identified, drain relining or localised structure repair (LSR) may be a better alternative to buying a new set of pipes. As a hotel, the last thing you want is to disturb your guests with ground excavation- this is unnecessary with drain relining and LSR.

Drain relining is the process of attaching a new layer to the inside on an existing pipe. This protective layer shields the pipework against future damage for up to 50 years. LSR, also known as drain patching, uses the same method as drain relining but only a small patch of the pipework undergoes corrective action.

Drain Relining or Localised Structure Repair?

    • Drain relining is typically used for diameter ranges of 100mm to 1200mm.
    • LSR can be used on pipework with a diameter of 100mm to 450mm and a length of 1 metre.

It is vital to have one of KD Drainage’s specialist engineers assess the damage of your pipe to ascertain whether drain relining or LSR is possible or whether the pipework needs to be replaced.

If you are unsure whether you require LSR or drain relining please call us on 01622 919012 or email info@kddaa.co.uk to receive direct advice from our specialist engineers. We offer drain relining and LSR throughout London and Kent to both domestic and commercial clients.

Benefits of Drain Relining & Localised Structure Repair

    • Both offer a cheaper alternative to traditional drain excavation methods
    • Essentially, they give you a new set of pipes without having to buy a brand-new set
    • Traditional ground excavation is unnecessary due to the trenchless methods used by KD Drainage

You can read more about drain relining and LSR in our blog posts containing further information on the benefits, the method used by KD Drainage and more.

Causes of a Burst Water Main

A water main break is when the main pipework that runs underground bursts, cracks or becomes damaged. It is vital to repair a water main as soon as possible as the water supply often flows from the pipes into roads and properties, causing damage.

A water main could rupture for a variety of reasons including the corrosion or rusting of pipework, pressure changes within the pipe and the surrounding ground, or breaks and cracks leading to a burst or fissure.

You can also read our blog post on Water Main Repairs; it includes information on causes and signs of a burst water main, the length of time it takes to fix a burst water main and images of water main repair work carried out by KD Drainage.

    Sewer Connections

What is a main sewer connection?

A main sewer connection is the connection between your property and the main pipework that collects and distributes sewage from various locations. Main sewer connections play a crucial role in ensuring all waste is directed away from your property in the safest and most efficient way.

As a hotel, reducing the build-up of waste is vital when your drainage infrastructure is used on a daily basis by a high volume of people. This is why KD Drainage offer sewer connections to hotels throughout Kent and London.

Water main connection or a treatment plant?

If you own a private drainage system, it is essential that this is connected to a main sewer or a treatment plant. A private drainage system is generally located on a road, footpath, or garden.

In the instance that you do not have an on-site builder to install a private drain, KD Drainage are also able to provide this service.

A connection to a main sewer has lower maintenance costs compared to a main treatment plant as a main treatment plant needs to be maintained and cleaned yearly. With a main sewer connection, there is no need for this.

How KD Drainage install sewer connections

At KD Drainage, our drainage experts have extensive knowledge and experience in the high-quality installation of main sewer connections.
